February Favorites
Hey! Welcome to Jenna’s Day. A place where I, Jenna, talk about whatever I want.
Today’s post is the second in my monthly favorites series! I will be following the same format as last month (linked here) if you missed it!
FOOD & DRINK
This month I have been obsessed with oat milk. I love the brand Oatly the most and am really loving it in my vanilla lattes! Oat milk in general is a great vegan alternative to regular milk that tastes delicious and is not too expensive. I haven’t had regular milk (as in cow’s) in years and made the transition to almond milk a few years back, but oat milk is quickly becoming a new favorite. I usually pick mine up at Whole Foods or Wal-Mart if they have it, but I can link it for you here if you want to order it for yourself!
The second favorite in this category this month are these Trader Joe’s dark chocolate sunflower butter cups (pictured below). They are peanut and tree nut and dairy and gluten free – wow, it’s shocking they taste as good as they do! I like to think they are just like Reese’s Cups, only perfect for me because I’m allergic to peanuts (if you missed my all about me blog post I will link it here). I unfortunately can’t find a link for these cups, so if you do not have a Trader Joe’s where you live, MOVE! Trust me, you need these.
MAKEUP & BEAUTY
I have two favorites in this category this month. The first is this new concealer from Covergirl I got a few weeks ago! I bought it online and the color is a perfect match for me! If you didn’t know, Covergirl is now a cruelty-free brand (I had never bought anything from Covergirl in the past because they weren’t. It’s so amazing to be able to shop cruelty-free at the drugstore)!
Okay, rant over. Back to this concealer: I wear the shade fair. The coverage is perfect for me. I like wearing lightweight, more natural face makeup and mainly just use it to cover up my dark circles (because what even is sleep?). Oh, and did I mention it’s only $7?!
The second thing in this category is this scrubee exfoliator from Lush. It smells HEAVENLY, like honey and vanilla magic (if you have ever tried the Honey I Washed the Kids line of products, it smells exactly like that) and I am just in love with it. This little bee is a perfect exfoliator and moisturizer all in one. It leaves your skin so soft that you don’t need to moisturize after getting out of the shower, and it’s plastic free!
HOME DÉCOR & PRODUCTS
For home décor and products this month, I wanted to share two super practical things I’ve been loving this month. First is this filtered water bottle from Brita. There’s different sizes and colors to choose from on Amazon, but I will link to the one I have. I love this because it has a filter inside the bottle, so you can fill it up with water from anywhere and be drinking filtered water (they have videos where someone uses dirty water from a lake and drinks it through this bottle just fine)! It has a squishy straw that doesn’t make the water taste bad and all the parts are machine washable. I will also link the filter refills as well!
The second thing in this category is this cabinet saving storage/shelving (just click this link and/or look at the picture below to see what the hell I am even talking about here). I ordered one of these for my kitchen cabinet and it has helped organize the dishes so much! It’s fully adjustable for both smaller and wider cabinets, and makes putting dishes away a breeze. I got mine on Amazon but I’m sure you can find similar ones at Target or even The Container Store!
CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES
I also have two in this category this month! First are these Apple Watch bands. I got this one specifically on a website called Casetify. I love that it looks just like a Gucci band, only it’s super cheap and faux leather. It’s really comfortable on and makes your Apple Watch a little more for everyday wear as opposed to the sports-only look. I also like this one I got on Amazon. It’s a chain band that’s a little more dressy and comes in a ton of colors. I highly suggest getting Apple Watch bands on Amazon; they are cheap, cute, and comfortable.
The second thing in this category this month are these earrings! I recently got my ears re-pierced so I have been on an earring-kick-high lately. I got these on Amazon (I actually got two sizes: the 50 and the 60) but you can find hoops anywhere! For earrings, I generally like to go to Target, Francesca’s, and Express, but Amazon has had some really good finds for both hoops and studs lately. I’ll link some studs I found for sensitive ears here too!
ENTERTAINMENT
I have only one thing in this category this month (but also an honorable mention that is not quite a favorite). The favorite in this category this month is the show Atlanta. It’s on FX and we watched the first 2 seasons on Hulu in about a week’s time. It’s a show starring and created by Donald Glover (AKA Childish Gambino). Started as a comedy and turned into a situational dramedy and and then a horror film briefly and then back to dramedy, and Nate and I love it. Definitely give it a try!
The honorable mention is Meghan Trainor’s new album, Treat Myself. I love her, and although this album definitely has some crybaby moments I skip, the hits have been on repeat for me lately.
Aaaand that’s it – all my February favs I’ve been loving. Month two, check. Be sure to subscribe to my email list to be notified when a blog post goes up in this series and others too! Thanks for clicking on Jenna’s Day 😊
